Schedule a Tour or Field Trip

The Rock Island Arsenal Museum explores the US Army’s presence on the island. From the building of Ft. Armstrong in 1816, to military manufacturing today, visitors will discover the people, processes, and products of Rock Island Arsenal. The museum’s collection features more than 1,200 unique firearms that invite visitors to explore the history of US military small-arms development.

The Rock Island Arsenal and the Rock Island Arsenal Museum welcome visitors to the historic island. Outings, field trips, tours and excursions are available.

Tour Groups and School Groups

Advanced scheduling is required for all bus or school groups visiting Rock Island Arsenal. There is no fee or cost to visit the museum. Museum staff will work with school groups to tailor tours that align with curriculum standards.

All visitors must be US citizens and use the Moline (Illinois) gate to enter Rock Island Arsenal. Bus groups that register at least two weeks in advance can be granted special event status by the Garrison Commander. Individuals in the group will not be required to obtain a visitor’s pass, but all visitors over 18 will need to present a valid, government-issued, photo ID such as a state-issued driver’s license.

No advance registration is required for individuals visiting by car, van, camper, or motorcycle, but a visitor’s pass will need to be obtained at the Visitor Control Center. More info for visitors can be found here.
